Proper Use of Freecycle

Dear members,

There were a few messages that have been sent to the group which included content that is not allowed in our group. We want to remind all of our members (and there are over 1,000 of you out there!) that use of the group is simply this:

1. All items must be 100% free and legal for all ages *** This means you cannot offer to pay for an item to be delivered, ask to borrow items, post for firearms, etc. ***

2. No phone numbers, addresses or personal information is allowed in messages. This is for the personal safety of you, the members of Freecycle Fargo. On a related note, who wants to be on the phone for days telling people the item has been taken because they still have the message in their inbox even though you have notified the group of it's taken status.

3. Requests for information including sources for purchase of an item are not allowed in the Freecycle Fargo group. These requests do not fit within the misson of Freecycle which is to keep items out of our landfills. There are many community boards where these requests can be made.

4. Wanted posts are restricted to 1 post per item per 30 days. Please do not delete the post just to post it again before the 30 days is up. The moderator team keeps an archive of posts and will know if you have already asked for that item.

Please keep these things in mind when posting your offers/requests to the group. Members who post messages with content that is not allowed will have their membership placed on moderated status. Repeated failure to follow the posting rules of the group may result in termination of membership.
