We received this chair and matching footrest a little over a year ago. It was 20 years old when we received it and quite filthy. I shampooed and vacuumed it, tossed out the side and back cushions (there was no salvaging them), and have add body pillows to serve as replacements for the cushions.
The chair has since served as a cat bed for out two cats and has occasionally "eaten" the people who sit in it. This chair is very large and deep, and makes for an excellent pillow/blanket fort by just draping a blanket over the top of it. I'm a small woman and the large size of this chair makes it uncomfortable for me. My husband doesn't use it because he falls asleep within minutes because he finds it so comfortable.
The footrest isn't pictured here, but it was made to go with the chair and matches perfectly. It's large enough to serve as a bed for a toddler, and when set in front of the chair the entire thing is just a bed you can sit up in.
We would like to get a small sofa, but the chair is taking up too much space and is rarely used. We want to see it, and the footrest, gone. It will take two people to move the chair due to size. I'm a small woman and can push the chair around with little effort. I recommend using a truck and bungee cords to hold it in place while you take it away.
Both the chair and footrest are covered in cat hair, so a round (or two) of vacuuming this is highly recommended. There's no actual damage to the chair; my cats don't mess with furniture other than than scratching posts.
Cleaning the chair may be a good project for someone in boy/girl scouts, 4H, or some other program. You can take the body pillows if you want them, but they're misshapen now due to one of our cats favoring them as his personal bed.
We want these gone ASAP. Afternoons work best for us. We're located in Juniper Valley, just outside Prineville, about an hour north of Bend.
