Welcome to the Burlington Vermont Freecycle group.
If you would like to respond to an offer or request, please join the group first. After signing up, your mail will automatically be set to digest (with lots of messages sent to you in one email). You can change your email settings to No Email or Individual Emails for lots of emails per day, or leave it as Digest. Digest emails do not go out immediately, meaning that stuff may already be taken by the time you get the message. Set your email preferences by going to the My Groups tab. Next to the Burlington group is a drop-down menu. Choose "all emails" or "no emails" or "digest".
The Freecycle Network(TM) is a group of people who are giving and receiving free stuff locally. This branch is based in the Burlington, Vermont, area with 4380 members and is managed by volunteer moderators. We do lots of other stuff besides this, so be patient if your email is not answered immediately. Membership is free and everything posted *must be free*. Whether it's a chair, fax machine, piano, or an old door to be given away, it can be posted on the network. If you're looking to acquire something, respond to the posting directly and you just might get it. After that it is up to the recipient to pick up the treasure. If you are looking for an item, you may also request it. Please make sure that you give as well as take.
*Please carefully review the rules of this group before posting anything!* This group is for people living locally in the Chittenden County area. A couple of things may be different from other Freecycle groups: This group does not allow pets to be offered or accepted. We give the item to the first person to respond and go down the list of recipients in order.
Offers and requests can be made through the My Posts tab or by email to BurlingtonVTFreecycle@groups.freecycle.org Once an item is taken, you can visit the group and click on My Posts to make your Offer turn into a Taken. Upon joining you will receive the FAQs, so please read that before emailing the moderators with questions.
