Too many emails?
Are you receiving too many emails from Freecycle(R) Ipswich?
The most commonly stated reason for un-subscribing from this group is the overwhelming number of emails. When subscribing to freecycle groups the default method of message delivery is individual e-mail, but you can change this setting yourself at any time if this method does not suit you.
There are a few message delivery options available. The default set by freecycle is individual e-mail, which is just that. You get every single email sent to the group, individually. If you still wish to receive individual emails but don't want your inbox flooded, consider either setting up filters to sort Freecycle emails into a separate folder, or setting up a separate email address to receive your Freecycle emails.
The second option is Daily Digest. This takes 25 individual emails and condenses them into a single e-mail. The downfall of this option is that items may be taken before the digest is sent out.
The third option is Admin Notices. This means you will only receive ADMIN notices sent by the owners or moderators, and will need to go to freecycle Groups and log into the Freecycle Ipswich list to see the regular messages.
To change your settings please follow these steps:
1.log onto the Ipswich Freecycle site using your username/password.
2. click on the "My groups" tab then onto change settings.
3. Once here change your email settings to suit your needs. Use the drop down menu to select then click "Save email preferences".
At a minimum, you MUST have Admin Notices set to your account.
Sometimes we need to make important announcements regarding the group, and to ensure all members receive these we have set this as a requirement.
The Freecycle Ipswich Moderators reserve the right to make changes as necessary to enforce this rule.
